The Great Falls Americans are off to a 5-0 start to the season, and are winning in dominant fashion.

The reigning NA3HL’s Frontier Division champs have outscored their opponents 30-7 so far this season, with the closest outcome a 4-3 win in overtime against a Yellowstone team the Americans will host for two games this weekend.

Despite the teams hot start, head coach Jeff Heimel continues to make sure the Ams remained focused at practice, saying that his team needs to work hard in between games in order to keep winning them.

“Just being consistent in practice. I’m a big component and believer that your practice habits carry over into the game situation, which is why we hold our guys so accountable in practice,” Heimel says.

Ams Center Brendan Jester adds, “In practice, we’re just working on keeping things simple right now. Not trying to do too much with the puck, and it’s translating over to games a lot. I feel that we’re not making too many mistakes in the games, and it’s been real nice.”

The Americans will look to continue their hot start on Friday and Saturday against Yellowstone at the Great Falls IcePlex. The puck drops both nights at 7:30.
