GREAT FALLS, Mont.., November 15, 2025 — The Great Falls Americans (12-7-1-1) and the Bozeman Ice Dogs (10-9-1-1) are ranked No. 3 and No. 4 in the latest NA3HL Frontier Division standings after eleven weeks of junior hockey action.
In September 2025, Great Falls and Bozeman each played one game at home and on the road against each other with the Ice Dogs coming away with two victories. The Ice Dogs edged the Americans 3-2 in Great Falls on September 6th and then shut out their Montana opponents in Haynes Pavilion in Bozeman, 4-0 on September 26.
On Friday, Bozeman fell 7-2 to the Helena Bighorns at Steed Arena in Helena, Montana and Great Falls defeated Butte, 7-3. With Bozeman’s loss and Great Falls’ victory, both teams switched spots in the Frontier Division. The Americans for the moment are ranked No. 3 while Bozeman is in the fourth spot.
Great Falls was hoping to gather enough goals on Saturday to post their first win over the Ice Dogs.
Tallon Caron scored in the second and third periods and goaltender Kaden Rhyder redirected 37 of 38 shots to lift the Great Falls Americans past the Bozeman Ice Dogs, 4-1 in Great Falls on Saturday evening. Students, staff and alumni from Great Falls College – Montana State University received FREE admission to tonight’s game.
The twenty minute first period came and went without any scoring. Both clubs combined for 15 shots-on-goal.
Great Falls’ Tallon Caron broke the scoreless tie during the first 75 seconds of the second period. Caron’s ninth goal was assisted by Jaxen Savage and Fisher Hannesson. Matthew Stamp of the Ice Dogs, who is one of the 13 returners from last season, put in the equalizer with assistance from Jace Griffin with 13:58 remaining in the stanza. Both NA3HL teams skated out the remaining minutes without scoring.
Reid Lezubski acquired his first goal of the game with 12:51 to go in regulation as Cooper Clouse and Ethan Miller set up the Americans second successful scoring drive. The 2-1 advantage would stay that way until Tallon Caron scored his second goal with three minutes on the clock to preserve the victory for the home team. Ethan Miller and EJ Sanchez each added an assist to their resume. Both goals were made with the Ice Dogs in the sin bin. In an attempt to get another offensive player on the ice, Bozeman pulled starting goaltender Jack Ryan during the final minute but Jase Troyer capitalized on the opportunity and scored on an empty net for Great Falls with 38 seconds left. Keegan Hanson and Gavin Denis collected the assists.
The shots-on-goal category was even throughout most of the game. Great Falls outshot Bozeman 39-38.
Thanks to the first two goals in the third period, Great Falls finished 2-3 on the power play and prevented the visiting team from scoring in their three chances.
Kaden Rhyder played a flawless game in the first and third periods as he stopped 38 of the 39 shots for his sixth vicotory (6-3-1-0). Bozeman netminder Jack Ryan (8-6-1-0) made 35 saves but did allow two third period goals get by him.
