Dear Great Falls Americans Enthusiast: The Americans wrapped up 2024 with as bang and are now looking at a very exciting 2nd half of the season over the next 10-12 weeks. We are pleased to announce that our players came back from their holiday break ready to go to work. A great big thank you goes out to Havre Youth Hockey for hosting our squad last Saturday at the Havre Ice Dome. The day started with an intense 90- minute practice followed by three sessions with the Havre Youth Hockey players. Our coaches and players started with the 8U kids and worked their way up to the 14U and High School
aged kids. The sessions were focused on skill development and, most importantly, FUN. The photo to the right shows Coach Sears leading the youngest kids in a game of Army/Navy.
Our players also had a blast and based on the hospitality shown by the Havre hosts, we are excited to play Bozeman up in Havre on January 29th. Tickets are now on sale online and we are expecting a full house.
Our squad then got to work on New Year’s Eve with an impressive 7-0 win over Butte. Kaden Rhyder recorded the 14 save shutout, his 3rd of the season, while Garren Narvaez (2 G 2 A) and Zac Orwig (4 A) each added four points to the effort as six different players tallied goals and eleven players recorded at least one point. It was a great end to 2024 and a precursor of what is expected to come for 2025.
We are off to Yellowstone (Cody, WY) this weekend for a Friday and Saturday night series. Check out the action at our official watch party at Buffalo Wild Wings both nights. Our next home game is on the 10th as we host Helena with a 7:05 PM puck drop before travelling to Butte on the 11th. We are then home again on the 17th and 18th to take on Gillette. We look forward to seeing you at the Ice Plex in the coming weeks.
