Dear Great Falls Americans Enthusiast: It is a busy time of the year as the Americans are in the midst of a three-game stretch in five days. The
last week started with a productive 6-3 win in Butte on Friday night and a rare Saturday/Sunday off. The squad did get together for a great meal and a little dodge ball hosted by Jamie Stevens and GF Central Catholic High School on Sunday evening. The O5’ birth year group won the Dodge-Ball tournament with a 3-1 record. The Americans got back on the ice Monday with an intense workout as the mid-week game changes the practice dynamics. They followed with another strong practice Tuesday, morning skate Wednesday and hopped on the bus to Havre.

Before we get to Wednesday night’s game, a quick shout out and congrats to John Lang for earning the Frontier Division’s 3rd Star of the Week with a 2 goal and 1 assist effort in Butte.
Masen Kerr
We are also proud to announce that 2-year American Masen Kerr has committed to play ACHA College hockey and attend Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois next season. The Redbirds participate at the DI, DII and DIII levels of ACHA hockey. Illinois State has 21,500 total students and is the oldest public university in Illinois – founded in 1857. Congrats to Masen – who also happens to be our player profile this week.
I want to start with the positive from our night in Havre and that was the support of the community and the willingness of our players to engage with the local players and supporters – especially after a disappointing 5-2 loss. As part of our VIP 
experience for our partners in Havre, our players did a meet & greet with our partners and the youth players from Havre. The photo to the left shows our players eating their post-game pizza, mingling with our partners and signing autographs for the many kids that stuck around for a chance to see our players. Every autograph was signed and there was a large group of young hockey players from Havre that had a special night they will not soon forget.
With that being said, of course we would have liked a better result on the ice and the team will get back to work this morning. From the business side, we had a very successful night in that we had a nice crowd (announced at 437), tremendous corporate and community support and a highly successful opportunity to promote our game and provide our players with an experience they will not forget. So, I want to give one last “THANK YOU” all our local Havre partners who contributed to a successful night and I think we all agree this easily could become an annual event.

The week continues with a home game Saturday night versus 1st place Helena as part of a special hockey double- header with the University of Providence. UP plays UND-Williston at 3:30 followed by the Americans game at 7:05 PM. We have the go ahead to sell beer at both games, so come on out early to make a full day of exciting hockey action. On Sunday we head to Bozeman for a 5:45 PM puck drop – join our fans at Buffalo Wild Wings for our official watch party.
Our Annual Valentine’s Day Fan Activation through DASH goes live on Saturday and you will not want to miss out on this one. There are three special Valentine’s Day packages up for auction that has something for everyone.
