CODY, Wyo. – Brandon Lakusta redirected 44 shots as his Yellowstone Quake scored twice in the final 10 minutes to take a 5-3 victory over the Great Falls Anericans as the North American Tier 3 Hockey League’s Frontier Division started up its regular season Friday night at Riley Arena.

Cameron Deforest punched in what would be the winning goal with 12:21 left in the contest off feeds from Mason Merager and Jack Harris, and Merager would seal the deal with an empty net goal with 14 seconds left in the game.

Merager finished with three assists and a goal for four points, while Deforest and Harris each added three points to their offensive numbers.

Cole Whitman, Keegan Ferguson and Brandon Kiddis also tallied goals for the winners.

Ben Winkler and Will Simpson split time in net for the Americans, with Simpson being tagged with the loss.

Micah Serino, Henry Fusch and Thomas Gazich scored for Great Falls, who played the second game of the series Saturday night in Wyoming.
