GREAT FALLS – For the first time in two weeks, the Great Falls Americans will be playing some meaningful hockey as they host the Bozeman Icedogs in a North American Tier 3 Hockey League match Saturday night at 7:30 at the Ice Plex on Gore Hill.

The unbeaten Americans (7-0-0-0, 14 points) sit atop the Frontier Division table, just two points ahead of Bozeman (6-3-0-0, 12 pts.).

The Americans were to have had a two-game homestands against the Gillette Wild last weekend, as the Wild informed Americans’ and HA3HL officials that they were under COVID-19 protocol and would be staying home.

A week earlier, Missoula and Great Falls were only able to play one of their two matches because of heavy snow and poor travel conditions between Great Falls and the Garden City, so the Oct. 24 match was called off.

The teams hope to have these matches rescheduled as soon as possible.

Also, seating capacity for spectators at the Ice Plex has been cut in half due to new COVID-19 protocols set forth over the weekend by the Cascade County  Health Board to try and stem the spike in cases in the state and area. As of Monday, protocol will only allow 125 spectators inside the hockey arena, down from 250 a week ago.

And all spectators must wear masks/face coverings inside the Ice Plex.
