The Great Falls Americans of the North American Tier 3 Hockey League as announced that forward and team captain Lindros Beard has committed to play hockey and continue his education at the University of Utah this fall.

Beard becomes the eighth member of the Americans to sign a collegiate letter-of-intent following the conclusion of the NA3HL Frontier Division campaign. The list includes Great Falls native Cam McIntosh (Jamestown University), Payton McSharry (Iowa State), Drew Scites (Iowa State), Hendrik Robel (Davenport (Mich.) University), and Jens Juliussen, Sean McLean and Nate Simpson, all headed to Maryville University in Missouri.

The 21-year-old Beard, a native of Copperton, Utah, racked up 15 goals and 29 assists (44 points) in his lone season under Americans head coach Greg Sears, and helped the squad win 41 games this past season.

In his Junior A hockey career, Beard has played for the Casper Coyote (WSHL), and two other NA3HL teams, the Binghamton (N.Y.) Junior Senators and the Glacier Nationals/Butte Cobras.
