Five different players scored goals and goalie Drew Scites redirected 39 shots as the Great Falls Americans rebounded from Friday’s home loss to Helena with a 5-3 win over the Missoula Junior Bruins Saturday night at the IcePlex.

Matt Janke, Payton McSharry and Levi Mese each found the back of the net for the Americans (12-2-0-0, 24 pts. in NA3HL Frontier Division) in the opening 20 minutes following Misha Akatnov’s goal for the Bruins (5-7-0-0, 10 pts.),  and Great Falls never trailed again.

Luke Richesin and Alexi Suchomlin scored in the second and third stanzas, respectively. Scites faced 42 shots on goal and stopped 39, delighting the home faithful of 585 fans.

The win is the Americans’ first after falling in Friday’s home game with the Bighorns, who are now tied with the Americans with 24 points despite having played two less games than Great Falls. Helena is unbeaten in 12 contests.

The Americans will entertain the Bighorns Friday night at 7:30 at the IcePlex.
