Great Falls Americans’ backup goalie Cam McIntosh has signed a national college letter of intent to play hockey at Jamestown University in North Dakota next winter, the NA3HL Frontier Division club announced on Facebook Wednesday.

A Great Falls native and Great Falls High senior, McIntosh has a 2-2 record in seven appearances with the Americans. He has a 2.2 goals against average and has saved more than 89 percent of shots taken against him.

“Cam is one of our hardest working players,” the Facebook post said. “As a young guy he has worked hard with our other goaltenders to improve his game this year and prepare him for college.”

Jamestown is ranked 17th currently in the ACHA division one rankings. Next season the school will have both an ACHA division one and division two team.

The Americans currently sit atop the Frontier Division standings, five points ahead of Helena with three games left on their schedule. The Americans travel to Bozeman Friday night to face the IceDogs at the Haynes Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.
