GILLETTE, Wyo. —Alexi Suchomlin scored a pair of goals as the Great Falls Americans took control early and skated to a 7-2 win over the Gillette Wild Friday night in NA3HL Frontier Division action at the Spirit Hall Arena.

Ben Rinckey, Payton McSharry and Matt Janke each had goals in the first period as Great Falls went out to a 3-1 lead. Suchomlin got the first two goals in the second to salt the game away, while Jens Juliussen and Jack Olson put the finishing touches on the score.

Viktor Wennberg had 34 saves in 36 tries as the Americans maintained their two-point advantage (20 points, 10-1-0-0) over Helena (18 points, 9-0-0-0) in the Frontier Division. Gillette fell to 2-5-1-1 and six points, in fifth in the seven-team division.

The same two clubs were meeting Saturday night in Wyoming.
