Finally!

A packed house is expected at the Great Falls IcePlex on Gore Hill Friday night as the Great Falls Americans get to have their home opener in the North American Tier 3 Hockey League’s Frontier Division

The Americans will host the Butte Cobras at 7:30, their first home contest after having to play the first 11 games of the season on foreign ice after leaks were discovered in the cooling system that creates the icy surface.

Not that it’s hurt the Great Falls squad much: Coach Greg Sears’ club has amassed 135 wins points, putting the Americans in fourth place in the Frontier Division with five wins, three losses, two overtime losses and a shootout loss.

The Americans started their season Sept. 10 in Cody, Wyo. against the Yellowstone Quake, dropping a 5-3 decision, but rebounded with a 4-3 overtime win over the Quake the next night.
