Americans, Bruins to meet on Helena ice Friday
GREAT FALLS –The Great Falls Americans and Missoula Junior Bruins will make up a postponed NA3HL Frontier Division match Friday morning on neutral ice.
The match, postponed after a severe October snowstorm made travel between Missoula and Great Falls next to impossible, will be played at 11:30 Friday morning at the Helena Ice Arena.
Having won all 10 games this season, the Americans are the only unbeaten team among the five divisions of the North American Tier 3 Hockey League. Great Falls has 20 points, four more than second-place Sheridan (8-1-0-0).
The same two teams will meet again Saturday night at 7:30 at the Great Falls Ice Plex on Gore Hill.

Junior A Hockey: No fans to be admitted to Saturday’s Americans’ home contest
GREAT FALLS – The Great Falls Americans Junior A Hockey team will be playing a home game in an empty arena Saturday night.
According to a press release issued by the Americans, COVID-19 protocols initiated by the Cascade County Health Board has dictated that no fans will be allowed into the Great Falls Ice Plex on Gore Hill when the Frontier Division-leading Americans host the Missoula Junior Bruins on the back end of a two-game series with the Garden City team.
The two teams met Friday morning at the Helena Ice Arena, a game necessitated when severe winter weather forced postponement of an October match between the clubs.
The Americans, the only undefeated team in the five-division North American Tier 3 Hockey League, were 10-0-0-0 with 20 points entering Friday’s game with the Bruins, and Missoula was tied for second with Sheridan with 16 points, despite having won less games (seven) than the Hawks (eight). The Bruins are 7-2-2-0, Sheridan is 8-1-0-0.
The Americans are slated to host a pair of matches at the Ice Plex next weekend, facing Butte on Friday, Nov. 27 before another meeting with the Bruins the next night.
