GILLETTE, Wyo., January 24, 2015 —  For the second consecutive night, the Gillette Wild (26-11-1) picked up their second win in a row by scoring three goals over the Great Falls Americans (28-7-1). On Friday night, Gillette escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Great Falls Americans.

The following night, the Great Falls offense could not find a way to get the puck in the net and fell 3-0 to the home team in front of over 800 fans at the Spirit Hall Ice Arena in Gillette, Wyoming.

The Wild converted two power play goals during the first period with the first coming from the stick of Lance Pennington who put the Wyoming club on top. The goal was assisted by Alex King three minutes into the game. Alex King and Bryce Mitzel found Kyle Reilly open for the second points with 51 seconds remaining before the first intermission.

Kyle Reilly would gather his second goal midway through the second period. Kyle Traux and Tyler Tennant each added the assists on the empty net score. Gillette led the Americans (19-15) in the shots-on-goal category after two period of action.

Reilly’s goal in the second period proved to be the last goal scored by both squads as the last period went scoreless.

Gillette did not give up a goal in five chances excelling on the penalty kill against the visitors from Montana and registered two goals on eight power play opportunities.

The Americans racked up seven minors and one major penalty in 39 minutes in penalty time. The Wild finished with 8 infractions for 26 minutes of penalty time.

A night after recording 31 saves, Gillette goaltender Alex Feese stopped all 26 shots put up by the Americans.  Lauren Massie stopped 16 of 18 shots despite the loss.

NEXT CONTEST: The Great Falls Americans will end their five game road trip next Friday (January 30th) night as they face the Billings Bulls. Game time at the Centennial Ice Arena is set for 7:30PM.
