CODY, Wyo., October 4, 2025 — The Great Falls Americans (4-4-0-1) and the Yellowstone (WY) Quake (0-8-0-0) met on the ice for the second consecutive night on Saturday evening inside Cody, Wyoming’s Riley Arena.

Due to the NA3HL’s scheduling, both squads will play all six of their meetings before the end of November and will not see each other throughout the rest of the regular season that commences in March 2026.

During their first encounter on Friday, Great Falls and Yellowstone did not score in the first frame but the Americans scored twice in the second period and added three additional goals in the third for a 5-0 victory that (temporarily) moved Great Falls to the #5 spot in the Frontier Divisiion and kept the Quake winless in seven games. Reid Lezubski, a first-year player from Chestermere, Alberta, Canada, scored two goals and netminder Cole Murphy won his third game in four outings by stopping all 32 shots. Logan Mese and Wyatt Hanna combined for six assists for head coach Greg Sears’ Montana NA3HL squad.  Murphy’s counterpart, Damen Baxter (46 saves) was busy in the net and saw his record fall to 0-7-0-0.

Reid Lezubski was the star of the weekend for the Great Falls Americans. After scoring two goals on Friday, he scored three of the four Great Falls Americans goals on Saturday as they posted a 4-1 road win over the Yellowstone Quake in Cody, Wyoming. Fisher Hannesson and Bryce Webb contributed two assists each for the winning team.

Reid Lezubski, who scored two goals in Friday’s 5-0 victory over Yellowstone, lit up the lamp twice in the first stanza. Lezubski scored both goals during a four-minute frame with the first goal coming with 11:25 remaining with assistance from Fisher Hannesson and Bryce Webb while Yellowstone was in the sin bin followed by the second score with 7:40 left with Logan Mese and Wyatt Hanna setting up the scoring drive. Yellowstone’s Shayne Smith, a Billings, Montana native cut the Quake’s deficit (2-1) on an unassisted tally with four minutes left. Great Falls produced 17 shots and led 2-1 after the first period and allowed six shots by the home team.

Tallon Caron scored 56 seconds into the middle period with Cooper Clouse and Gordon Jennings picking up the assists to give the visiting team a 3-1 advantage. Reid Lezubski waited until the end of the period to score his third goal (hat trick) when Fisher Hannesson and Bryce Webb each earned their second assists of the game. The Americans captured their fourth goal while the Quake was in the penalty box. Great Falle entered the third period with a three-goal cushion.

Great Falls and Yellowstone skated out the third period without finding the back of the net.

The Americans outshot the host team, 32-19 after two periods and attempted 13 in the third frame for the 45-35 advantage.

Reid Lezubski had a great weekend in his first season with the Montana NA3HL franchise as he scored five goals over two days including a hat trick (three goals) on Saturday evening. Fisher Hannesson and Bryce Webb each assisted on two of Lezubski’s scoring plays. The Quake prevented a shutout in the second period with a goal by Shayne Smith.

Two of Lezubski’s tallies came on the power play. Great Falls went 2-for-5 on the power play. Yellowstone failed to score on their five power play chances.

Cole Murphy made 66 saves this weekend including 34 in Saturday’s win. The Americans netminder improved to 4-1-0-0 on the season. Damen Baxter (0-8-0-0) is still searching for his first win as a member of the Quake. The Omaha, Nebraska goalkeeper redirected 41 shots.
