CODY, Wyo., March 26, 2016 — Tyler Garcia, a forward from Anchorage, Alaska, scored two back-to-back goals including the go-ahead score in the third period to lift the visiting Great Falls Americans to a 5-4 win over the Yellowstone Quake in Game 2 of the best-of-three Frontier Divisional Finals. The 550 spectators saw a game that went back-and-forth during the first two periods with both teams fighting hard to win.

The Americans, playing their final game of the season at the Great Falls Ice Plex, saw 658 fans come to cheer them on.

GREAT FALLS, MT — When Connor Barta started playing hockey for the Great Falls Junior A team four years ago, smiles were as scarce as victories.rnrn“It wasn’t good at all,” Barta said. “I think we had three coaches and won only one game. It wasn’t fun.”rnrnIn 2012, Barta was a 17-year-old junior at C.M. Russell High with aspirations of playing college hockey. He was talented enough to be the youngest member of the Americans, and optimistic enough to believe that abundant success at the Tier II Junior A level would soon follow.rnrnIt didn’t.
