Blake Babineau had a pair of third period goals that sent Sunday’s NA3HL Frontier Division matinee into overtime and then a shootout period, in which Brian Skillicorn’s goal as the ninth Helena shooter helped knock off the Americans 3-2 in front of 595 paying customers at the IcePlex. The loss snapped the Americans’ brief two-game winning streak and brings the Bighorns to within three points of the division- leading Americans.

The Helena Bighorns scored twice to erase a 2-0 deficit in the third period and held Great Falls scoreless in overtime and came out on top 3-2 in a shootout on Sunday afternoon in front of nearly 600 fans at the Great Falls Ice Plex. This was Great Falls’ second shootout loss in a week when they fell to the Billings Bulls (4-3) on January 30th.

The Great Falls Americans picked up their fourth season win against the Billings Bulls with a 5-0 shutout victory on Saturday night in front of 821 loud fans at the Great Falls Ice Plex. Great Falls registered their second consecutive shutout including a 7-0 win over Glacier the previous night. Great Falls plays well in front of the home crowd as they have won 16 of 20 inside the Ice Plex this season.
