GREAT FALLS, Mont., December 13, 2014 — For the second night in a row, the Great Falls Americans (22-3) and the Gillette Wild (18-9-1) faced each other in Great Falls. The top-ranked Americans looked to redeem themselves from Friday’s 5-0 loss to the Wyoming franchise.rnrnGreat Falls prevented their second consecutive loss in as many days by posting a 4-1 victory over the Gillette Wild with 580 spectators watching the Saturday night NA3HL showdown at the Great Falls Ice Plex. Great Falls now leads the season series 5-1.rn

The Gillette Wild scored three of their five goals in the final period as Gillette blanked the Great Falls Americans 5-0 Friday at the IcePlex. The 456 fans saw their team’s winning streak end with six straight victories. The Americans lost for just the third time this season (21-3), all on home ice.

GREAT FALLS, Mont., December 12, 2014 — The Great Falls Americans (21-3) and the Gillette Wild (18-8-1) renewed their rivalry after both teams participated earlier this week at the NA3HL Showcase Hockey Tournament in Blaine, Minnesota.

2014-15 NA3HL: Frontier Division Star of the WeekrnrnWeek 11: (December 12, 2014): The NA3HL gives out a weekly "Divisional Star of the Week" award during each of the regular season. The awards, presented by Easton, are given to the top performing players in each of the four divisions (Central, East, Frontier, South) of the North American 3 Hockey League that are nominated by their head coaches.

Expectations were high coming into the season for the Great Falls Americans, but even Jim Keough is surprised with how dominant they have been.rnrn"Absolutely," Keough, the team's owner, said. "Four years ago, we were 1-47 and we just kept building and building. Last year, we had a really good year … Yeah, it's just great news. It's awesome to see what our team has built. Jeff (Heimel) has done a fantastic job building the program. And the kids are giving it 110 percent."

BLAINE, Minn., December 9, 2014 — After two days of competition at the prestigious NA3HL Showcase in Minnesota that began on Sunday, the Great Falls Americans (21-2) have picked up wins over the Minnesota Flying Aces (3-1) and the St. Louis Jr. Blues (4-3 in a shootout).rnrnOn the final day of the Minnesota tournament, the Americans faced South Division opponent, the Point Mallard Ducks on Tuesday morning at the Schwan Super Rink. The Point Mallard Ducks, who play their home games in Decatur, Alabama, boast a 13-8 record so far this season including going 1-2 at the Showcase tournament that concluded Tuesday.rn
