Turning our attention now over to hockey, the Great Falls Americans have been without an assistant coach for just over a week now. Ethan Hayes took over as the Gillette Wild GM and Head Coach.

Despite Hayes being out of the picture, the team is rallying around one another and is focused on the task at hand, which right now is beating Bozeman this weekend.

But now with only one coach on the bench, a new problem has popped up. If for some reason, head coach Greg Sears gets ejected from the game, the team has to forfeit the match.

I caught up with him earlier today and he told me he knows how important it is for him to be there for his team, even if that means holding his tongue.

(Greg Sears) “You know moving forward, I’m well aware of that and I’m not quite as vocal as I have been in the past so it might be good for me in my learning curve too.”

The Great Falls Americans just came off a tough loss to the Bozeman Ice Dogs losing that match 3-4 but they will travel down to their place tomorrow (January 31st) for a little redemption.

But with all of his going on, the Americans are still  just focused on winning. They realize that because this is a developmental league they understand that everybody is just trying to move up the ladder.

The Americans will eventually look to find that spot come next season.
