BOZEMAN, Mont., February 10, 2018 — The Great Falls Americans (27-10-2) and the Bozeman Ice Dogs met on the ice for the eighth time during the 2017-18 season.

The Great Falls Americans needed just two goals in the middle period to earn the 2-0 shutout over the Bozeman Ice Dogs during Saturday’s NA3HL junior hockey in Bozeman, Montana. Both teams will tangle next month in the final two regular season games of the 2017-18 season.

The first and third periods saw no goals being scored by either team. During the middle period, Great Falls came away with two unassisted goals. Adam Vandenbos netted his 13th goal and Michael Fary put his 16th goal of the season during the final 48 seconds. Bozeman netminder Carver Thompson failed to stop the Americans offense on the scoring drives.

Great Falls easily dominated the shots-on-goal category, 57-10 including 26 in the second period. Bozeman took two shots apiece in the last two periods after taking six in the opening period.

The game consisted of six minor penalties resulting in 12 minutes of penalty time.

Bryan Sharp had an easy night in the goal for Great Falls. He prevented all ten shots from going in the net and took the victory. Carver Thompson, who lost for the second consecutive night against Great Falls, finished with 55 saves.

NEXT CONTEST: The Americans return to the Great Falls Ice Plex after a four-game road trip to Cody, Wyoming and Bozeman, Montana. Their opponent is the Missoula Jr. Bruins, who they defeated in seven out of eight games (7-0-1). Game time is set for 7:30PM on Friday, February 16th.
