Just when it looks like the Yellowstone Quake are going to pull away from the rest of the seven teams in the NA3HL’s Frontier Division, the Great Falls Americans remind them of one thing: We are the two-time defending league champs.

On Saturday night, the Americans of head coach Jeff Heimel kept pace with the league-leading Quake, blanking the Glacier Nationals at the Great Falls IcePlex, 5-0.

Great Falls improved to 23-3-3-2 on the season. With 51 points on the season, the Americans remain in the regular-season race, as it entered the night four points behind the Quake, who played late Saturday night.

Tanner Congdon had a hat trick while Tegan Harrington lit the lamp twice in the triumph. Congdon has a team-best 29 goals on the season. Net minder Kyler Ayers posted the shutout in net, fending off 20 shots.

Great Falls swept its two weekend games after doubling up Missoula 6-3 on Friday night. The Americans visit the Quake next Friday and Saturday night.
